A$AP Rocky has officially dropped Don't Be Dumb after years of teasers and delays. This album has been highly anticipated, and one thing’s for sure, Rocky has delivered.
The reception so far has been a mixed bag, but it's no surprise when considering the album's history intertwined with Rocky's past feud with Drake. Fans of Drizzy are reportedly planning a coordinated effort against Don't Be Dumb, and it’s not hard to see why.
It seems Rocky has unleashed some serious shots at Drake across the album. Despite his claims that he doesn't want his bars to be misinterpreted, the animosity remains palpable.
A$AP Rocky Unleashes On Drake
Right off the bat, Rocky channels his frustration on the track “Stole Ya Flow.” Here, he dives into themes of copying styles, body modifications, and smearing his name—clear nods to Drake. Adding to the drama, there’s a Rihanna twist that serves as one of Rocky's sharpest digs.
“First you stole my flow, so I stole yo' b*tch / If you stole my style, I need at least like ten percent [...] N***as getting BBLs, lucky we don't body shame / Throwin' dirt on Rocky name, turn around and copy game [...] First you was my bro, p***y n***a switched / Turned into a opp, f*ck his block, he a b*tch”
Rocky continues to prod on “No Trespassing,” referencing Drake's recent move to Texas.
“N***as lookin' jealous, see it in his eyes N***as actin' desperate, you ain't gotta lie / I might move to Texas, roll 'round with protection, pull up to your section, hit 'em with the fire”
Finally, on the track “Playa,” Rocky addresses the hot topic of parenting and responsibility— a clear shot at the criticisms often aimed at Drake.
“Takin' care of your kids, boy, that's player sh*t / One b*tch, boy, that's player sh*t / No baby mama drama, no new friends, boy, that's player sh*t”
It's evident that the tension between A$AP Rocky and Drake isn't cooling off anytime soon. And whether Drake will muster a response remains to be seen.
