After the success of its live-action adaptation, Amazon Prime Video has announced a new reality television show inspired by the Fallout games.
The upcoming series, titled Fallout Shelter, will feature contestants living in a vault within a "high-stakes world," competing for a substantial cash prize.
"Set inside Vault-Tec's bomb-proof vaults, Fallout Shelter drops a diverse group of contestants into an immersive, high-stakes world inspired by the games' signature dark humor, retro-futurism, and post-apocalyptic survival storytelling," reads the show's official logline.
Participants will face a variety of escalating challenges along with strategic dilemmas and moral crossroads. Since it is based on Fallout, these challenges will focus on the franchise's core SPECIAL attributes—strength, perception, endurance, charisma, intelligence, agility, and luck.
Contestants will need to showcase "ingenuity, teamwork and resilience" to secure not just their safety but also power, not to mention the impressive cash prize on offer.
The show is set to run for 10 episodes, and casting is currently open for individuals over 21, with applications closing on February 15th. The casting crew poses the question: "Do you have what it takes to be the most SPECIAL?"
Since Amazon's TV adaptation debuted in 2024, the Fallout franchise has experienced a significant resurgence in popularity. The games saw a player boost coinciding with the arrival of season one, a trend that has continued into the current second season, which features returning faces like Ella Purnell and Walton Goggins, along with newcomers Macaulay Culkin and Kumail Nanjiani.
Filming for the third season is expected to begin in May, and while details about other potential Bethesda adaptations are scarce, Todd Howard has indicated that he "can't rule out an Elder Scrolls thing in the future."
