Delonte West's turbulent relationship with the law continues as he finds himself in hot water yet again. The former NBA star was recently arrested in Virginia after allegedly robbing an individual, as reported by TMZ Sports.
Authorities received a call from a victim claiming he was robbed and assaulted in Belle Haven. Upon their arrival, they identified West as the alleged culprit. Shortly after his arrest, West was released on a $1,000 bond, with the staggering amount stolen being just $23. As of now, West's team has remained tight-lipped concerning this incident.
This arrest adds to West's troubling recent history, as he was previously taken into custody in November due to public intoxication, a situation officers deemed necessary for his own safety.
Is Delonte West Sober?
It seemed like West was making strides toward recovery earlier this month, celebrating 30 days of sobriety while in rehab. However, it's uncertain whether he has maintained that momentum. The former NBA player has encountered battles with addiction, homelessness, and mental health, receiving support from family and friends along the way.
Mark Cuban, who has previously intervened to assist West, expressed his concerns. "I thought we had him, turned around. We sent him down to Jayson’s place, a farm in Florida," Cuban recounted on Club Shay Shay. "It was as if we were making progress, but ultimately he disappears and we have to bring him back again. Mental illness is real, and it can't be wished away."
