A cry for help has resonated across social media as Noluthando Mkalipe, a South African mother, urgently seeks assistance after her five-year-old daughter was reportedly taken to the Democratic Republic of Congo by her father without consent. Her emotional plea, shared in a video on X, has attracted the attention of many concerned citizens.

In the emotional video, Noluthando narrates her distressing experience, starting from when her daughter was taken by her father for what was supposed to be a short holiday visit on December 17. On January 5, she received the devastating news that her child had been taken abroad — the father and his brother had even sold their belongings before fleeing, raising alarms about the seriousness of the situation.

Mom's Fight for Justice

Desperate for justice, Noluthando approached local authorities, including the children's court and family advocacy groups, only to be met with bureaucratic hurdles. Feeling unheard, she was advised that an official case of parental abduction needed to be filed. Despite multiple visits to the Ivory Park Police Station since early January, the police have yet to provide any significant assistance, leaving her fear-stricken as she learns the father might plan to move to Europe with their child.

Public Support Grows

The poignant video captured the hearts of many, garnering 362K views and nearly a thousand comments expressing dismay over the alleged abduction. Viewers took to social media to rally support, tagging the DRC Embassy and urging them to intervene swiftly for the child's safe return. Reaction to the situation was overwhelmingly supportive, with many criticizing the apparent lack of action by local law enforcement during this critical moment.

"@DRCEmbassySA, I don't know how you can assist, but here. A 5-year-old needs her mother. Please help the child come back to her mom."
User @TheeAzania remarked:
"This is scary, though. How was that child able to leave the country without the mother’s consent? A parental consent affidavit is needed to fly with a child outside the country."
User @H_Permza noted:
"Children usually take their father’s nationality, so they’re Congolese."
User @WallieDon urged:
"Please don't bring your negative energies here because we need solutions only! Love knows boundaries, and you can't shame this woman. Let's resolve the problem only!"
User @pecson007 expressed concern:
"This is a serious difficulty. We only hope the child is safe and sound wherever she is."
User @masurpi shared a mother's worst fear:
"Imagine your child being raised in another country, and you, as a mother, not around."

As the story unfolds, the public remains hopeful for a swift resolution to this heartbreaking case. Watch the emotional plea by Noluthando in the X video below:
