Drake, the self-proclaimed 6ix God, is busy in the studio crafting his upcoming album ICEMAN, but he’s also keeping his cool amidst some stormy legal weather. The hitmaker is still closely tied with the cryptocurrency-centric online casino Stake, even as a new civil RICO lawsuit brings their partnership into the limelight.
On January 9, Drake took to Instagram to unveil a fresh ad for Stake that sparked buzz among fans. While his caption was vaguely cryptic, many interpreted it as a cheeky nod to the ongoing legal drama or perhaps a reflection on his gambling escapades.
"One more year with @stake what will 2026 hold cause 2025 was kind of a mazzzzzzaaaaa," Drake teased. The post featured lively snippets from his streams with fellow influencers BenDaDonnn and Adin Ross, showcasing moments of big wins and humorous gameplay, including the hilarious footage of him attempting to wrestle a drone away from his penthouse suite. Fans flooded the comments, requesting updates on ICEMAN while referencing the lawsuit.
What Is Drake & Stake's Civil RICO Lawsuit About?
For those out of the loop, the ongoing civil RICO class action lawsuit against Drake and Stake doesn’t involve any criminal charges but addresses claims that Drake used earnings from Stake’s “tipping” feature to covertly augment his streaming numbers. Adin Ross and George Nguyen are also named as codefendants, adding to the intrigue.
This is the third lawsuit targeting the trio, citing allegations of bypassing U.S. anti-gambling regulations, misrepresenting their brand, and allegedly leading users into an illegal gambling scheme.
Despite the tensions surrounding the case, Stake's cofounder reacted dismissively to the lawsuit, while Drake and Adin have kept mum regarding this latest legal spat. However, Drake's new Stake ad paints a picture of confidence and resilience amidst the swirling controversies.
As court proceedings unfold, Drake has plenty on his plate to focus on for the coming year!
