Many studios are reportedly eager to create a film or TV series based on Embark's shooter, Arc Raiders.
In today's entertainment landscape, it seems every video game is a potential candidate for adaptation, ranging from unproduced projects like Amazon's Toejam and Earl movie to successful adaptations such as The Last of Us and Fallout.
Embark founder Patrick Söderlund discussed the prospect of an Arc Raiders adaptation during an appearance on GamesBeat's YouTube channel, sharing, "I can't tell you how many companies have reached out to us wanting to make a TV series [or] a movie out of this." He conveyed his interest, stating it could be "fun" but emphasized the importance of doing it the right way. "I hope that we will do that," he added.
Söderlund also expressed confidence that the Arc Raiders intellectual property fits well into film and television formats.
The community is left wondering: Are fans excited to see an Arc Raiders film? Additionally, how might it distinguish itself from existing adaptations like Helldivers and Call of Duty?
In terms of its gaming success, Arc Raiders recently achieved over 12 million sales, generating more than $350 million in revenue, and became a bestseller on Steam during the holiday season, buoyed by favorable discounts and a strong word-of-mouth campaign.
