Kandi Burruss expressed her hope to maintain a friendship with her soon-to-be ex-husband, Todd Tucker, after their divorce, although the journey has been challenging. During an Amazon Live Q&A session on January 5, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star shared her wishes for an amicable separation following her divorce filing in November 2025.

“Yes, I think after divorce I think anybody should be able to. Hopefully. Don’t get me started lying,”
she joked.

“I hope we get to be friends, like that would be my goal. But I think when you’re going through the divorce, people get on your nerves and you really start looking at em’ differently,”

Kandi detailed that although they are in an “awkward space,” they are still trying to co-parent effectively; they even took a family trip to celebrate the New Year together.

Todd Tucker also communicated their status via Instagram, sharing images from the New Year’s Eve family celebration at an indoor waterpark. In these photos, he appeared joyful alongside Kandi and their children, Ace and Blaze. He included a caption that emphasized family bonding:
