Lynn Forbes, the beloved mother of late rapper AKA, took a poignant trip down memory lane on social media, sharing a heartwarming throwback video of her and Kiernan during their sunshine-filled days together. Her post resonates deeply with fans, particularly as it coincides with a significant moment involving the Ndimande brothers in court.
On Friday, as the Ndimande brothers, Siyabonga and Malusi, made their court appearance, Lynn reflected on the joyous family traditions they once shared, including cherished moments with her granddaughter, Kairo Forbes. Her post brought smiles to the faces of many in the Megacy.
"Kiernan, Kairo and I had this thing called Forbes Fun Fridays, where we did unplanned, random things together... Those were special times. We would be silly, do normal family stuff and laugh so much, and sometimes we won’t agree."
The timing of Lynn's touching tribute comes as the Ndimande brothers, recently extradited from eSwatini, face accusations linked to the murders of AKA and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane back in February 2023. During their courtroom proceedings, the defense sought to transfer the brothers to the eBongweni Super Maximum Correctional Centre in Kokstad.
This was also the first court session Lynn attended since the legal process began, as she had previously preferred to stay away. After the hearing, she expressed her gratitude, stating,
"I really appreciate it. I can only imagine all the hours that must go into all of this... Thank you very much; you are appreciated."
