Michael Brits, the focal point of the controversy surrounding influencer Mihlali Ndamase, has come forward to present his perspective on the accusations of stalking.
In a statement released just before he made his social media account private, Brits confirmed his acquaintance with Ndamase but disputed various elements of the claims circulating online.
“I wish to categorically state that I do know Ms Mihlali Ndamase, as we previously had an interaction during which a prior altercation was resolved,” he remarked.
Brits refuted suggestions that their interactions ever ventured into personal or romantic territories, or that there were inappropriate exchanges between them.
According to Brits, these allegations have significantly affected him, especially as he is a married man. “Ms Ndamase and I have never had a personal or romantic relationship, nor were there ever any exchanges of solicitation between us,” he declared.
“The information circulating on the internet regarding Ms Ndamase and me is false, misleading, and damaging to both her reputation and mine. Particularly as I am a family man,” he continued.
Brits extended his apologies to both families, recognizing the turmoil the situation has caused. “I wish to extend my sincere apologies to both our families for the harm and distress caused by the false narratives published online,” he stated.
This portrayal from Brits stands in contrast to earlier statements made by Ndamase, who claimed she had been living in constant fear due to the alleged stalking. Additionally, the influencer had responded to counter-allegations asserting she had assaulted Brits with a bottle during an altercation.
