Influencer and media personality Mihlali Ndamase has publicly addressed her serious concerns regarding her safety and that of her family. In a recent statement, she shared her fears stemming from alleged harassment and intimidation.
Ndamase took to Instagram to voice her concerns as an act of 'safety and self-preservation', emphasizing the importance of being transparent about her situation.
For months, she claims to have faced ongoing harassment by a man named Michael Brits, also referred to as 'Mike', particularly after rejecting his advances, leading to increasingly obsessive behavior.
She detailed alarming incidents, including him allegedly following her and showing up unexpectedly at her workplace and various other locations, raising concerns that her movements were being tracked.
“My privacy has been repeatedly violated,” she stated, disclosing that family members were approached in public and that individuals were reportedly paid to take photographs of her without her permission.
Ndamase also highlighted the dangers of false narratives being spread online about her life, which have led to reputational damages and increased threats to her safety.
In her statement, she confirmed that she is working with law enforcement to seek legal protection.
“I am speaking publicly not for attention and not for sympathy but because silence has become unsafe,” she stressed.
Ndamase addressed broader issues of consent, stating, “Influence does not equal consent. A woman does not owe access to her life because she was pursued. Rejection is not provocation.”
She concluded with a powerful message, asserting the importance of respect: “Men need to understand that courting a woman does not entitle them to her life or body. No means no.”
