NBA YoungBoy recently set the internet abuzz by posting and then mysteriously deleting a countdown for his much-anticipated album, Slime Cry. Hitting his Instagram Story, the countdown hinted at just three days left until fans could dive into his latest work.
Excited fans took to X (previously Twitter) in celebration of the imminent release. One user humorously mentioned, "And bro, he is expecting his 14th child. I saw a tweet saying that one day, his children are gonna rule the world." Another user threw shade at A$AP Rocky, stating, "We need it. Cause that new riri baby daddy ain’t it," as Rocky gears up to launch his own long-awaited album, Don't Be Dumb, this Friday.
When Is NBA YoungBoy Releasing "Slime Cry"?
With NBA YoungBoy's countdown now erased, fans are left in a state of suspense about whether the album is still on track for its Friday release. This isn’t the first time the artist has altered the release date; he previously hinted at a November drop that never materialized.
Despite the uncertainty, fans have not been deprived of YoungBoy's music. Since July, he has thrilled audiences with his eighth studio album, MASA, and has been actively on tour, giving 42 electrifying performances between September and November. He also collaborated with DJ Khaled on the mixtape, DeShawn, which dropped in August.
In addition to his musical endeavors, YoungBoy has been making headlines due to an ongoing feud with fellow rapper NLE Choppa. This discord ignited back in October when Choppa dissed him on his track, "KO." YoungBoy responded brilliantly with his “Zero IQ Freestyle,” showcasing his lyrical prowess amidst the drama.
