To say that fans are baffled by Nicki Minaj’s recent political stance would be an understatement. The Trinidadian rapper’s unexpected support of the Conservative party during her appearance at Turning Point USA's AmericaFest last month has left many followers feeling abandoned.
In an unprecedented move, tens of thousands have rallied for change, with nearly 50,000 signatures on a deportation petition launched on Change.org since December 27. The drastic measure shows just how strong the backlash is against her new beliefs.
Accompanied by a photo of Minaj high-fiving Erika Kirk, the widow of TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk, the petition articulates a profound sense of disappointment.
"This is personal for those of us who watched Nicki rise as a beacon of hope, only to feel abandoned by her shift in values," the petition states.
It further emphasizes, "Her public platform carries weight and responsibility, and her recent statements starkly contrast the solidarity she once showed, leaving many feeling deflated and disillusioned. Deporting Nicki Minaj back to Trinidad would remind us all that public figures must be accountable for their words and the impact they have on diverse communities."
As the digital uproar unfolds, it remains unclear whether this petition will lead to real actions. Notably, Minaj disclosed in 2024 that she is still not a U.S. citizen and has come to the country illegally at the young age of five.
Why Is Nicki Minaj Supporting Donald Trump?
Despite the heightened scrutiny against illegal immigrants during Trump's administration, Minaj remains steadfast in her support. Her endorsement blossomed in October 2025 and gained momentum in November when she praised Trump’s stance on the alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria.
"I would like to thank President Trump for prioritizing this issue," she stated, emphasizing his leadership in advocating for urgent action to protect freedom of religion and combat extremism.
