ICE fatally shot Renee Nicole Good, a mother of three, yesterday morning in Minneapolis, Minnesota, just a few blocks from where former police officer Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd. The response to Good’s unwarranted killing has been significant, with thousands of people protesting in Minneapolis and across the country. This tragedy highlights the ongoing state-sanctioned violence faced by Black and brown lives, underscoring that this issue transcends gender, social status, and race.

If you are among those newly awakened, welcome to the resistance.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey didn't hold back when addressing Good’s tragic death.

“I do have a message for our community, our city, and I have a message for ICE: get the f–k out of Minneapolis,” he said.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump and his allies are attempting to shift the blame onto Good. Here’s what he shared on Truth Social in response:

“The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self-defense,”

ICE has branded Good’s actions as “domestic terrorism,” and this narrative is supported by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who claimed that Good had been “stalking and impeding” immigration agents all day before the incident.

According to CBS News, Illinois Congresswoman Robin Kelly plans to file articles of impeachment against Noem for her role in Good’s death and the suffering caused by ICE.

“[Noem] has turned ICE into a rogue force, violating the Constitution, tearing families apart, and leaving death in her wake,” she stated. “From Chicago to Minneapolis, her recklessness cost lives, including Renee Nicole Good. This isn’t just dangerous—it’s impeachable. I’m fighting back.”

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson also issued a strong statement regarding Good’s death.

Rest in peace, Renee Nicole Good. America grieves your death and condemns those who supported and justified the actions of ICE.
