Over $300,000 in Rare Pokémon Cards Stolen in Southern California Heists

This past weekend, Southern California became the site of alarming Pokémon TCG-related crimes, totaling over $300,000 in rare card theft across two separate incidents. In one instance, culprits forcefully entered a trading card store, while a dedicated collector was held at gunpoint for a briefcase of valuable cards.

On Sunday morning, Simi Sportscards in Simi Valley faced a brazen break-in, as reported by local news outlets. Footage captured on CCTV revealed a group of at least five thieves violently smashing display cases to seize the coveted cards inside. The store's owner, Jake Miller, revealed that the gang pilfered both rare sports trading cards and invaluable Pokémon TCG collectibles. He anticipates that damages and losses will exceed $50,000, necessitating significant repairs and security enhancements.
