Recently, comedian Druski created a buzz on the internet with a skit lampooning money-hungry mega church pastors. The video quickly went viral, sparking accusations from critics who claimed he was mocking Christianity and religion at large. Although Druski has remained silent amidst the backlash, Pastor Michael Todd has stepped into the conversation.
In a recent sermon, Pastor Todd candidly shared his thoughts about the skit, admitting he found it quite amusing. "There was a video that came out this past week with a few hundred million views, and some people were trying to link it to me, and so I watched the video. It was hilarious. It was funny," he remarked.
But what surprised him more was the level of frustration it ignited among viewers. "I was literally watching people go back and forth, denouncing and calling each other names. I stepped back for a second and thought, 'Oh my gosh. This was just an attack on people's lives of distraction,'" he expressed.
Druski's Skit Sparks Heated Discussions
As Todd elaborated, "You thought it was some attack on the church. No, it was an attack on focus." He admitted he was unaware of his supposed connection to the skit, as he doesn't frequently engage with social media.
"I had a few people tell me what was going on, and I was like, 'That's crazy, I don't even got a Rolls-Royce.' I said, 'I don't remember being that big,'" he concluded with a chuckle.
This isn't the first time Druski has faced backlash over his comedy. In 2022, he pulled a skit featuring a character encouraging women to drink excessively after it received significant criticism. At the time, he reflected, "I didn’t want to continue to trigger people. It’s always coming from a good place."
