Big Brother Mzansi viewers and Marcia “Cia” Morata’s family have ignited significant online discussions following their request for donations after her unexpected departure from the reality show.
Cia, an educator, made history as the first contestant to leave Big Brother Mzansi: Bazozwa during this season, citing concerns about her emotional and mental wellbeing.
The news of her exit led to an overwhelming wave of support from fans, many of whom opted to contribute financially.
Recently, Morata’s banking details were shared widely on social media by family members and supporters, prompting calls for assistance.
Big Brother Mzansi officially acknowledged her exit, stating: “Marcia ‘Cia’ Morata has left the ‘Big Brother Mzansi’ Bazozwa house. She is the first housemate to exit the show since it premiered on Sunday, 11 January 2026.”
On Saturday, 17 January 2026, BBMzansi supporter @SlungileMbatha announced on X that Cia’s brother had made her banking information available for those looking to show their support.
“I have spoken to her brother; our beautiful sister has been hospitalised due to anxiety and a mental breakdown. If you have anything to share as love and support, please check the bank details,” he shared.
Cia's brother, Matila Moswana, also posted on Facebook, emphasizing that donations were optional: “For those who wish to contribute, every cent counts. It’s not obligatory, just out of love and support,” he stated.
The initiative stirred mixed reactions online, with some fans applauding the family's transparency, while others criticized the need for financial assistance.
One commenter, @RataNnete, remarked, “She’ll be fine; why the donations? She has medical aid; she’s a teacher.”
In response to the backlash, @SlungileMbatha clarified that the appeal was not solely for medical expenses. “My tweets are straightforward; if it's not for you, just move on. We all have different perspectives. My message was about showing her some love,” they explained.
