T.I. has been an icon in hip-hop for decades, and many fans thought he would ride off into the sunset with his ventures in comedy and film. However, the Atlanta rapper has one last album to drop, and it’s titled Kill The King. On January 18, he teased the record with a brand new single titled "Let Em Know," produced by the legendary Pharrell Williams.
The track opens with a signature four-count from Sk8brd P, launching listeners into a triumphant trap-flavored banger. T.I. showcases his undeniable energy, delivering flexing verses that once again assert his dominance. Prior to this release, T.I. shared an eye-catching teaser of his new look, shedding his iconic dreads. Fans are buzzing with excitement for this "comeback" album, as it marks his first major musical release in six years since The L.I.B.R.A. in 2020.
While details about Kill The King remain under wraps, expectations are high for a project that is bound to be bittersweet, nostalgic, and cathartic. Not every hip-hop legend gets to dictate the end of their musical journey, making these purported final albums especially meaningful.
Release Date for T.I.'s Kill The King?
As of now, there is no official release date for Kill The King, despite T.I. teasing the project for years. However, the release of "Let Em Know" hints that a formal rollout is just around the corner.
In a conversation with TMZ back in 2023, T.I. explained the significance of his album’s title, which ties back to his previous works relating to the "King" theme. He reflected, "That was the beginning of a long road of many challenges, opposition, and adversity. The title, 'Kill The King,' puts a big bullseye on your back, meaning you can't rely on favors. Life is chess, and the game is called Kill The King."
