"Oh my God, I almost didn’t even write a speech because I didn’t think I would get this,” she shared, with excitement radiating through her voice. She addressed her children watching from home, saying, “Y’all better be off those damn phones and watching me right now.”
Turning her gratitude towards the film's director, Paul Thomas Anderson, she said, "To Paul 'Let 'Em Cook' Thomas Anderson, thank you for your vision, your trust, and your brilliance. My gratitude is endless. I love you, we love you, and thank you so much for holding space for me and our entire cast." Not forgetting her co-stars, she gave a shout-out to Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, and others from the film.
In a touching conclusion, she addressed her audience, especially young girls watching, stating, “Our softness is not a liability. Our depth is not too much. Our light does not need permission to shine. We belong in every room we walk into.” The sincerity and gravity of her message resonated deeply, leaving a lasting impression on every listener.
Who Won At The Golden Globes?
Alongside her win, the Golden Globes celebrated One Battle After Another with several accolades, including Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, and Best Screenplay. Paul Thomas Anderson also secured the award for Best Director.
In other highlights, Hamnet took home Best Drama, Motion Picture, while Timothée Chalamet won Best Male Actor for Marty Supreme.
