Tragedy strikes as Yella Beezy confronts the unimaginable loss of his mother. Following this devastating event, the rapper’s legal team is requesting to postpone his upcoming trial set for February 2. A court hearing this past January 16 saw him absent due to his family's grief.
His legal representatives stated to WFAA: “We can confirm his mother’s passing. We are having another hearing next week to go over some of the pre-trial motions. We will also be discussing a new trial date.”
Why Is Yella Beezy Facing Trial?
Facing the serious charge of capital murder, Yella Beezy is accused of hiring a hitman to eliminate fellow artist Mo3 in 2020. Since posting a bond of $750,000 back in March 2025, he's been under electronic monitoring at home. Alongside him, Kewon White and Devin Maurice Brown also face federal charges surrounding Mo3’s tragic death.
In a poignant tribute, Beezy shared heartfelt memories of his mother over the weekend on Instagram. He posted touching photos and videos encapsulating their bond through the years. "Kim Baby! Where do I start? My Mama, My Sister, My Best Friend, My World, My Everything… I’m so empty right now I can’t even explain," he movingly expressed.
Continuing his tribute, he wrote: "It’s been me and you against the world since birth. Can’t nobody go to war about me like you. Take up for me, protect me and my name through it all. God, you don’t make mistakes and I’ll never question you, but I’m hurt and lost and need your strength."
The outpouring of support was heartwarming, with many, including Ty Dolla Sign, Meek Mill, and Bun B, sending their condolences in the comments section.
