2025 CAF Awards Set for Morocco: Celebrating African Football Excellence

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that the 2025 CAF Awards will be held in Morocco on 19 November.

The prestigious ceremony will celebrate the excellence of African football over the past year, honouring the continent’s top players, coaches, and teams.

Nigeria and Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman is the reigning African Footballer of the Year, having claimed the award last year.

Bafana Bafana captain and Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams also enjoyed a memorable night at the previous edition, winning multiple accolades — including CAF Footballer of the Year (Based in Africa) and CAF Goalkeeper of the Year.

Williams has once again been nominated for Goalkeeper of the Year, while Orlando Pirates rising star Mbekezeli Mbokazi is among the contenders for the CAF Young Player of the Year award.

In the women’s category, Zambian striker Barbra Banda ended Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala’s three-year dominance by winning the CAF Women’s Player of the Year award.

The 2025 edition of the CAF Awards will be held in Rabat, Morocco on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, honouring the top performers from the previous year, the Confédération Africaine de Football (“CAF”) has confirmed.

The CAF Awards 2025 will start at 19h00 local time / 18h00 GMT / 20h00 Cairo time.

This ceremony honours African players and coaches whose performances for Club and Country have set them apart from their peers, as well as honouring Clubs and National teams that have had an exceptional year.

Among the awards are:

CAF African Player of the Year (Women) 2025

CAF African Player of the Year (Men) 2025

CAF Coach of the Year (men and women) 2025

National Team of the Year (Men and Women) 2025

Club of the Year (men and women) 2025

CAF Young Player of the Year 2025

The nominees for CAF African Player of the Year in the Men’s and the Women’s categories have already been announced, with the past five recipients listed below:
