Arsenal are preparing to say farewell to one of their players once again, following a failed summer transfer. The Gunners made significant squad improvements in the summer, with notable signings such as Eberechi Eze, Martin Zubimendi, and Viktor Gyokeres being prominent additions.
These players were part of eight new acquisitions that left some members of Mikel Arteta’s squad surplus to requirements. Nuno Tavares, Jakub Kiwior, Kieran Tierney, and Reiss Nelson are just a few who have departed the Emirates, either on loan or in permanent transfers.
Arsenal Star Set for Another Loan
Oleksandr Zinchenko is making a temporary move to Nottingham Forest but has only managed 10 appearances across all competitions. Now, Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reports that he is preparing to leave that loan deal behind, as he is set to undergo a medical with Ajax.
The 29-year-old awaits the arrangement of his transfer, with Ajax keen to secure his services. Zinchenko’s contract with Arsenal is set to expire next summer, making him a potential free transfer target for the Dutch side.
Ajax are looking to bolster their defense, especially at left-back and in defensive midfield positions, where Zinchenko could provide valuable versatility. This move would also see him returning to the Eredivisie, where he previously spent time on loan with PSV.
The arrangement could benefit both parties, as Zinchenko is looking for more playing time, while Ajax aims to strengthen their squad in crucial areas.
