South African Football Association Confirms Friendly at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium
The South African Football Association (SAFA) has announced that the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium will host an international friendly match between Bafana Bafana and Zambia on 15 November.
This match will serve as Bafana Bafana’s last friendly for the year before the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) begins in December in Morocco.
Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos is set to announce his final squad for the match against Zambia's Chipolopolo on Thursday.
“Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape will host the friendly between the 2026 FIFA World Cup-bound Bafana Bafana and regional neighbours Zambia this month,” SAFA stated.
The friendly match will take place on Saturday, 15 November 2025, at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium as part of coach Broos’ preparations for the upcoming AFCON tournament.
SAFA will provide ticketing details in the coming days, with kick-off scheduled for 18:00 in Gqeberha.
On the other hand, Zambia will arrive in South Africa facing a change in coaching staff, as they are currently without a head coach following the departure of legendary tactician Avram Grant.
This change comes despite Grant's success in leading the Chipolopolo to qualification for the upcoming AFCON tournament.
