TS Galaxy head coach Adnan Beganovic remains confident in key youngsters' recovery
Adnan Beganovic, the head coach of TS Galaxy, has expressed optimism regarding the recovery of key players Puso Dithejane and Seluleko Mahlambi, who are both nursing minor injuries. He anticipates their full return to fitness by next year, as both have played pivotal roles in the 2025/26 DStv Premiership season.
Dithejane has showcased exceptional form, earning the Player of the Month award for November, marking his second accolade this season after achieving the same honor in August.
“We take great care of our players, and we understand what needs to be done physically during crucial moments,” explained Beganovic, following a draw against Kaizer Chiefs last Sunday.
“Puso picked up a small knock, and we didn’t want to risk losing him for a long period. If he rests now, he will be ready. I’m sure he’ll be ready for preseason later this month and start fresh with us. We can definitely count on him.”
Regarding Mahlambi, who has reported a groin issue, Beganovic commented, “It’s not easy to defend constantly, track back, and still cover long distances during counter-attacks. He uses a lot of energy, so we wanted to bring in fresh legs. For me, names and age don’t matter — only what I see on the field and in training.”
TS Galaxy’s Preparations for the Second Round of the Season
Beganovic also elaborated on the team’s comprehensive preseason strategy as they prepare for the season's second half.
“I had a meeting with the chairman, and we agreed on everything regarding our preseason,” he shared.
“We have two weeks completely off, then we start again on 22 December with seven days in the gym, utilizing online programs from our fitness coach. We return to the field on 29 December, allowing us exactly four weeks before facing AmaZulu on 25 January in Durban.”
Beganovic emphasized that this preparation period will be crucial for refining TS Galaxy's performance:
“It’s not the start of a new season — we already have a full squad. Starting together on the same day helps us plan our positioning and conditioning properly for the four-week period. We aim to elevate our players to peak physical levels, and some still need tactical improvement. It’s a challenging task, but it depends on how quickly the players learn and understand.”
He added that squad depth is one of their key advantages moving forward.
“We are fortunate to be utilizing all 24 players on our roster. I’m very happy, and I’m never afraid to field young talents like Nkosi. I trust all our young players, and I believe we can cultivate many more in the future.”
