Kaizer Chiefs Loans Out Happy Mashiane and Samkelo Zwane to Siwelele FC
Kaizer Chiefs has confirmed that they have loaned out Happy Mashiane and Samkelo Zwane to Siwelele FC, a team currently struggling in the league.
Both players have not featured in a single match this season, which prompted the loan move.
Zwane faces stiff competition in the midfield from Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Thabo Cele, George Matlou, and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, all of whom are ahead of him in the pecking order.
Mashiane, who is remembered for his red card in the 2021 CAF Champions League final against Al Ahly, also has strong competition at left-back from Bradley Cross, Paseko Mako, and Nkanyiso Shinga.
“With the transfer window in South Africa closing today, Monday, 22 September, Kaizer Chiefs have agreed to loan duo Happy Mashiane and Samkelo Zwane to Siwelele FC for the remainder of the 2025/26 season,” Kaizer Chiefs said in a statement.
The move was anticipated after Siwelele’s chairman, Calvin Le John, announced that the club would be signing a few players and releasing five or six who have underperformed.
Both players are joining a Siwelele side that is in 14th position with only four points after seven matches. They have only won one match, which was the first game of the season against Golden Arrows.
Siwelele’s next match is against Orlando Pirates at Toyota Stadium on Tuesday. It will be interesting to see if Mashiane and Zwane will be part of the squad.
