Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that their league match against Magesi later this month has been postponed.
This change follows Amakhosi’s involvement in the CAF Confederation Cup group stages, where they will open their campaign against Egyptian side Al Masry away on 23 November.
The Magesi fixture was originally scheduled to take place three days later, but Chiefs would not have had sufficient time to train and prepare, given the long travel from Egypt to Polokwane.
With this match postponed, Chiefs will now have only a few days to prepare for their second group-stage clash—also against Egyptian opposition—when they face Zamalek at Peter Mokaba Stadium on 29 November.
“The match between Magesi FC and Kaizer Chiefs, originally set for 26 November 2025 at Seshego Stadium, has been postponed due to our CAF Confederation Cup schedule and related travel logistics. The PSL will advise on the new date,” the club said in a statement on Friday.
Chiefs qualified for the Confederation Cup by winning the Nedbank Cup last season—ending a 10-year trophy drought—after beating Orlando Pirates at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
This is their first appearance in CAF competition since their 2021 CAF Champions League final loss to Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly.
Amakhosi have started the current season strongly and sit third in the Betway Premiership table with 22 points from 11 matches, level with rivals Orlando Pirates, who hold second place due to a superior goal difference. Pirates also have a game in hand.
Chiefs are currently led by co-coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze until the end of the season, following the sacking of Nasreddine Nabi.
