Chiefs Remain Stagnant with Draw Against Siwelele in Premiership

Kaizer Chiefs played out a disappointing 0-0 draw against Siwelele in the Betway Premiership at FNB Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The Phefeni Glamour Boys have been struggling in the league, with their last win coming in September against Golden Arrows.

Since then, they’ve managed only draws and suffered a loss to Sekhukhune United before the departure of Nasreddine Nabi.

Chiefs started the game on a high note, creating numerous chances in the first 20 minutes, but unfortunately, they failed to capitalize on them.

The hosts continued to press for the opening goal, coming close in the 39th minute through Reeve Frosler, whose shot sailed over the crossbar. The first half ended goalless, with neither team managing to find the back of the net.

In a bold move, Amakhosi made two substitutions before the second half even began, introducing Glody Lilepo and Bradley Cross to strengthen their defense and attack.

The introduction had an immediate impact, with Chiefs creating many chances in the opening 15 minutes of the second half. However, they once again failed to convert their opportunities into goals.

As the game wore on, Amakhosi made further changes, introducing Siphesihle Ndlovu, Gaston Sirino, and Khanyisa Mayo in the 70th minute to bolster their attack.

Despite their best efforts, Chiefs couldn’t find the breakthrough, with Lilepo and Mduduzi Shabalala wasting a golden opportunity in the 80th minute.

The draw means Amakhosi remains in fourth position with 16 points.

The Phefeni Glamour Boys will now take a break in the league this weekend as they prepare for their CAF Confederation Cup match against Congolese side AS Simba at Dobsonville Stadium.
