Amazon has announced the first-ever discount on the physical edition of one of the most anticipated titles for the Nintendo Switch 2. Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, which debuted alongside the new console last June, is now available for $60, down from its original price of $70. Unlike many other third-party titles on the Switch 2, this edition includes the entire 60.6GB of the game on the cartridge, saving users valuable storage space.
It’s important to note that the digital version of the game was priced at $40 during the recent eShop Holiday Sale. However, some early shoppers snagged it for just $17.49 due to a pricing glitch that was honored by the developers. Currently, the digital price stands at $70 again.
Features of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition
This Ultimate Edition encompasses the core game along with the acclaimed Phantom Liberty expansion, which was released on other platforms in 2023.
The performance of the Nintendo Switch 2 port of this celebrated open-world RPG is notably remarkable. While it may not match the visuals of its PS5 and Xbox Series X counterparts, it still excels when compared to the Steam Deck, proving to be a better portable experience.
Thanks to features like DLSS upscaling technology, ray tracing, HDR support, and VRR, the graphics and clarity are impressive. Players can switch between Quality and Performance Modes. In Quality Mode, the game operates smoothly at 30fps with 1080p resolution, while Performance Mode targets 40fps at 1080p when docked and 720p on the handheld screen. In handheld mode, the game benefits from the console's Variable Refresh Rate tech for optimal performance.
Additionally, Cyberpunk 2077 embraces Joy-Con 2 Mouse Mode and motion controls, allowing for innovative aiming while utilizing the diverse arsenal of weapons and skills available in Night City. Players with existing save files from different platforms can take advantage of the cross-progression feature.
After a rocky launch in 2020, CD Projekt Red has worked tirelessly to refine the game. The recent 2.0 update significantly improved the experience, making Cyberpunk 2077 truly shine, while the roughly 20-hour expansion might be the crown jewel of the overall narrative.
Players can expect roughly 40-50 hours of main quests, with total gameplay exceeding 100 hours when considering side content and replaying with different archetypes and life paths, each offering unique interactions with the game's NPCs.
