Marvel Rivals is set to welcome Deadpool on January 16 with the launch of Season 6, granting players the unique ability to choose any role: Duelist, Vanguard, or Strategist.
In the Marvel Rivals Dev Vision video, Deadpool humorously addressed community feedback about the need for more Vanguards and Strategists, deciding to step in and embody all three roles himself.
One of Deadpool's standout features is his ability to earn XP based on the style of his actions during matches. This XP can be utilized to upgrade his abilities with a comic book-themed mechanic, adapting to his current role until he humorously claims the title of "server admin."
As a Duelist, Deadpool leverages his iconic dual pistols and katanas to slash through foes. In his Strategist role, he can use those same weapons to heal teammates, while as a Vanguard, he can deploy unicorn plushies that create shields to absorb enemy damage.
His gameplay trailer showcases a chaotic yet entertaining combat style filled with flashy visual effects, such as a chibi Deadpool delivering blows with a hammer and multiple Deadpool figures that create a visual spectacle. True to his character, he constantly delivers witty banter throughout the match.
Debuting alongside Deadpool, Season 6 will also feature a new map located in the Collector's museum, introduce a photo mode, and add a dueling arena. Significant adjustments are expected for hero proficiency rewards, along with various balance changes for heroes and team capabilities. Midway through the season, fans can anticipate the introduction of another new character, Elsa Bloodstone, continuing the monthly hero additions.
