Discover Every New Pokémon from Gen 9 in Pokémon Go!

Gen 9 introduces 110 Pokémon that will be released gradually in Pokémon Go.

Unlike previous generations, the first Gen 9 Pokémon, Roaming Form Gimmighoul, wasn't initially catchable. Players had to wait about three months before it became part of the game.

Launched alongside Pokémon Scarlet and Violet for the Nintendo Switch, Gen 9 expanded its roster during the Pokémon Day celebrations in 2023, with more additions anticipated in the upcoming DLC, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero.

This generation features a mix of original species, Paldean variants, and revamped versions of classic Pokémon.

Current Gen 9 Pokémon in Pokémon Go

The Gen 9 Pokémon are being released in stages, similar to Gen 7. Their introduction was teased in November 2022 when Roaming Form Gimmighoul appeared on the in-game map via special Golden PokéStops.
