Discover the Secrets of Shiny Mareep in Pokémon Go!

Shiny Mareep is available in Pokémon Go!

First introduced in April 2018, shiny Mareep has been a part of Pokémon Go for quite some time. Here, we explore how shiny Mareep looks and its perfect IV stats in the game.

Is Mareep shiny in Pokémon Go?

Yes, Mareep can be shiny in Pokémon Go. The shiny version debuted during the fourth Community Day event in April 2018.

Having been available for years and featured in various events, shiny Mareep is relatively common. If you're on the lookout for a pink sheep, chances are someone in your gaming circle may have one to spare!

What does shiny Mareep look like?

Shiny Mareep boasts a minimalist design: think of a sheep resembling cotton candy. This version is a vibrant pink, with a blue face and feet, and an orange tail ball that becomes a darker shade for contrast.

This pink hue carries over through its evolutions. While regular Flaaffy is also pink, shiny Flaaffy features lighter pinks and the tail ball changes from blue to green upon evolution. Shiny Ampharos takes on a pink hue as well, with its gems transforming into dark blue, a trait that shiny Mega Ampharos shares.

How to get shiny Mareep and perfect IV stats

Finding Mareep in the wild depends on seasonal in-game events and spawns. Occasionally, special events like a Spotlight Hour or Go Tour may feature Mareep, enhancing your chances of finding a shiny version. Otherwise, it’s all down to luck.

Keep an eye out for every Mareep you encounter, since the average shiny rate for non-boosted Pokémon is around 1 in 500. Just because you’ve encountered 499 doesn't guarantee your next one will be shiny!

Best of luck while hunting for that shiny Mareep!
