The beloved characters Max Caulfield and Chloe Price from the original Life is Strange are set to make a comeback, as hinted by the recent leaks from the Pan-European Game Information (PEGI). The upcoming title, tentatively named Life is Strange: Reunion, promises to reunite the duo for a fresh adventure.
In the original release, Max utilized her time-rewinding powers to protect Chloe, culminating in a heart-wrenching decision that impacted their hometown. While Chloe was absent in the latest installment, Life is Strange: Double Exposure, the new PEGI rating suggests that both characters face significant challenges in this sequel.
The official game description states, "Chloe Price was Max Caulfield's partner in time. Losing her is Max's greatest regret. Now, Chloe visits Caledon University, plagued by haunting nightmares and memories. Desperate for help, she turns to Max, who is grappling with a crisis of her own: in just three days, a catastrophic fire will obliterate the campus."
The PEGI rating indicates that much of the violence is implied, along with occasional strong language. Additionally, it highlights a scene where the protagonist has the choice to consume wine, which turns out to be laced with a hallucinogen.
Scheduled for release on PS5, Life is Strange: Reunion has not been confirmed for PC or Xbox Series X|S yet. Fans are eagerly awaiting an official announcement from Square Enix in the near future.
In other news related to the franchise, Prime Video announced a TV series inspired by Life is Strange late last year, although the original creators of the game will not be involved in this project.
