Filming for the third season of Amazon's Fallout adaptation is kicking off sooner than initially anticipated.
Just a few weeks ago, executive producer Jonathan Nolan mentioned that the Fallout crew aimed to start filming sometime this summer. However, it has been confirmed that filming will actually commence on May 1st in Santa Clarita.
Frederick E.O. Toye will once again take on directing responsibilities for the new season, bringing his proven expertise to the project. According to a production post, Toye has provided a consistent visual and narrative rhythm that helps anchor the show's expansive universe.
Santa Clarita serves as a strategic location for the third season, as many set pieces were already constructed there after the filming moved from New York for the second season.
The early May shoot date is beneficial for department heads and crew, allowing ample time for preparations. Set builders and art departments are gearing up to create practical landscapes and terrains that reflect the continuation of the saga into the Classic Wasteland and beyond.
The Fallout series was renewed for a third season in May last year, even before the second season premiered. Bethesda's Todd Howard confirmed last month that the writing for the third season is already underway.
Meanwhile, season two episodes are currently airing weekly on Amazon Prime, featuring returning stars like Ella Purnell and Walton Goggins, along with new additions Macaulay Culkin and Kumail Nanjiani.
Regarding potential future adaptations, Todd Howard mentioned he cannot definitively confirm or deny plans for an Elder Scrolls project.
