Explore Pokémon Go's 2026 Regional Exclusives and Their Locales

Pokémon Go regional exclusives link specific creatures to various locations worldwide.

Each new Generation in Pokémon Go introduces region-exclusive Pokémon that may appear exclusively within that region, continent, or hemisphere, encouraging players to venture out and trade to collect them all.

For the most part, these Pokémon remain confined to their designated areas, with a few exceptions during special events or regional swaps.

Therefore, unless you frequently travel or have friends who are willing to trade, patience may be necessary while waiting for these Pokémon to reach your area.

In this article, we present the complete Pokémon Go regional exclusives list along with an overview of all regional exclusive locations, guiding you on your quest to find them all.

Understanding Pokémon Go Regional Exclusives

Each Pokémon generation includes a variety of creatures exclusive to specific regions. These can include exclusive Pokémon found only in specific countries, continents, certain territories, or even halves of the planet. A notable example includes Tauros, which is exclusive to the USA, while Mr. Mime can only be found in Europe.

Typically, these regional exclusives are abundant in their respective areas, allowing players visiting briefly to encounter them with relative ease.

Regional Pokémon appear in the wild, whereas gyms and nests generally do not host them. Moreover, since September 2019, some regional exclusives can also be obtained from Eggs native to their respective regions—this is how players can catch Mime Jr., the baby form of Mr. Mime.

In December 2022, Pokémon Go introduced Scatterbug, Spewab, and Vivillon, where various patterns of Vivillon are directly linked to different regions worldwide. Players need to receive postcards from specified regions through Gifts to encounter Scatterbug, which can then evolve into a Vivillon with that region's design. For more details, you may refer to our Vivillon map and pattern guide.

If travel isn’t feasible, don’t worry. Generations often see shifts in Pokémon availability (like Zangoose and Seviper swapping places) or some Pokémon might lose their regional exclusivity entirely, as seen with Plusle and Minun. Furthermore, events like the 2017 Pokémon Go Travel Challenge have previously temporarily altered regional distributions.
