Originally released last June, this 1,201-piece building set is now available for $117, down from its regular price of $130. Details on the Build
Lego chose an iconic scene from The Lord of the Rings for the Book Nook, depicting Gandalf the Grey’s battle with Durin's Bane from the film adaptation of The Fellowship of the Ring. The finished model echoes the stone pillars and archways found in the First and Second Halls of Moria, featuring the narrowest point on the Bridge of Khazad-dûm as a stand for the Gandalf minifigure.
When closed, the Book Nook measures 5.5 x 6.5 x 9 inches and captures the famous moment when Gandalf declares, "You shall not pass!"—a line prominently displayed on the front plaque. The model comes with Gandalf wielding his staff and Glamdring, his sword.
The included Balrog figure, which can be articulated at various joints, is designed to emulate an action figure, allowing for different poses with its wings, arms, and fingers. The Balrog, complete with a whip accessory and flame elements, makes for an impressive centerpiece, especially when displayed with the wings fully spread.
Opening the Book Nook reveals the model’s expanded width of 17.5 inches, and both the Balrog and Gandalf figures can be showcased separately from the Nook, offering versatile display options.
