Forza Horizon 5 has reportedly sold more than 5 million copies on PS5.
According to analyst Rhys Elliott from Alinea Analytics, this achievement translates to an estimated $300 million (£223 million) generated for IP owner Microsoft.
"Xbox's move to third-party is no mystery, especially given Microsoft's lofty profitability mandates," Elliott stated.
Earlier this week, Microsoft announced another Developer Direct scheduled for January 22, featuring titles like Fable and Beast of Reincarnation, along with an in-depth look at Forza Horizon 6, highlighting gameplay and new features.
Forza Horizon 6 is set in Japan, a detail revealed by Microsoft at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. This installment promises the largest and most immersive map in the series to date.
Art director Don Arceta emphasized, "This map that we've created for Japan, or Horizon's version of Japan, is big but also dense. There's always something around the corner for you to discover and see." Notably, the map will also include Tokyo, the largest city featured in any Horizon game so far.
