Grim Discovery: Super Mario World Has A Chilling New Ending

Even 35 years after its release, players of Super Mario World continue to uncover bizarre new elements in this classic SNES title. The latest revelation presents a dark twist where Yoshi can consume Princess Peach, resulting in an unnerving scene where Mario and Yoshi simply gaze at each other for eternity.

The unsettling ending was revealed by Supper Mario Broth, who explained that a series of glitches are necessary to access this conclusion. Notably, it's uncommon for Yoshi to participate in the final showdown against Bowser. Players must exploit a glitch to bring Yoshi from the reserve item box—which typically contains power-ups such as the Cape Feather or mushrooms.

The key moment involves timing; players need to have Yoshi attempt to eat the mushroom at the precise moment it drops, which will then be replaced with Princess Peach. Successfully executing this task while defeating Bowser is no easy feat.

This is not the first instance where Supper Mario Broth has drawn attention to peculiar and humorous facts about beloved Nintendo titles. For example, they previously highlighted that Toad NPCs can commandeer vehicles in Mario Kart World.

The next adventure featuring Mario, Peach, and Yoshi will likely be in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, set to premiere in theaters on April 3, with Yoshi joining the cast alongside Princess Rosalina.

In addition, Yoshi will be headlining his own title on Switch 2 later this year, as announced during the September 2025 Nintendo Direct. Yoshi and the Mysterious Book marks the character's first game since Yoshi's Crafted World in 2019. Remember, Super Mario World is also accessible on the Switch and Switch 2 through a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
