Hytale is officially available in early access after a decade of development and an initial cancellation. Like many early access titles, Hytale is still in progress and may feature bugs and quirks as its developer, Hypixel, implements updates and enhancements over time. The studio has shared its roadmap for upcoming content and improvements.
In the initial months, Hypixel intends to deliver quick and frequent updates to tackle immediate issues and repairs. Hypixel acquired Hytale from Riot Games in November 2025. Since its release, the team has focused on launching the game, albeit at the cost of addressing all desired fixes.
As for the long-term plan, Hypixel aims to roll out "larger, more bespoke updates," featuring new and official minigames. Development on these minigames is set to commence in the upcoming months, enhancing gameplay with new systems and elements.
Furthermore, Hypixel is exploring social functionalities for Hytale such as proximity voice chat and enhanced friend lists.
Another exciting addition on the horizon is the Adventure Mode, promising a rich storyline, deeper progression mechanics, and challenging dungeons with boss encounters.
Hypixel notes that their development roadmap remains flexible and will evolve based on feedback from players experiencing Hytale firsthand.
Players can access Hytale now through the Hytale Launcher. Initial engagement shows promising viewer numbers on Twitch, indicating a positive start for the game.
