The popular sandbox title Hytale has recently launched in early access, but is currently exclusive to PC. The development team at Hypixel has plans for a console release; however, this won't come until further along in the game's evolution, as revealed in an official FAQ.
Hytale's executive director, Patrick Derbic, elaborated that "the early access of Hytale will only be on PC," indicating that players eager for a console version will need to wait. Presently, Hytale is only accessible through its dedicated launcher and is not available on Steam.
Derbic noted that developing a console version is a challenging endeavor, requiring substantial work on backend systems. The team is committed to creating an exceptional game and prefers to channel their efforts into that before considering porting the game to consoles.
The game boasts extensive modding capabilities, which raises questions about potential challenges regarding a console version, especially since Steam does not support some of these modding features. Hytale's long history includes a disrupted development phase when initial funding from Riot Games halted production after a decade, only for the project to be revived months later. Its early access launch has since captured a large audience on Twitch.
