This year's Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) charity livestream has brought a fresh perspective to Mario Kart World. The Free Roam mode allows fans to explore the open world of the game, but one speedrunner, Helix, has taken it to an impressive level by completing the All ? Panels category in under 30 minutes.
The challenge involved activating every single question mark block in the game, a feat that required a combination of skill, clever tricks, and a bit of luck, along with the strategic use of the game's rewind feature.
Mastering Mario Kart World's expansive terrain is no small feat, particularly as some of the question marks are not straightforward to access. Helix opted for the Para-Biddybud, leveraging its light weight and extended airtime advantage to navigate effectively. He advised attempting this challenge with a new save file, as Free Roam mode defaults players to the last completed course otherwise.
Additionally, Minecraft streamer DThaiPome, donned as Pac-Man, executed a speedrun of Pac-Man World 2 within a similar timeframe earlier in the week. AGDQ runs until January 11, with proceeds supporting The Prevent Cancer Foundation.
Meanwhile, speculation among Nintendo fans suggests that news regarding Mario Kart World DLC may be forthcoming, although confirmation from Nintendo remains pending. Notably, the company has also announced plans to phase out the Mario Kart World Switch 2 bundle.
