Kaizer Chiefs have officially confirmed the departure of head coach Nasreddine Nabi with immediate effect.
Nabi, who joined Chiefs at the start of last season, had been suspended by the club in recent weeks, with discussions underway to terminate his contract.
He missed the last five matches across all competitions, including the Carling Knockout Round of 16 defeat to Stellenbosch FC.
The club has now reached an agreement to part ways with the Tunisian coach, who ended Chiefs’ 10-year trophy drought by guiding them to Nedbank Cup glory last season.
“Kaizer Chiefs FC and Head Coach Nasreddine Nabi hereby confirm that, following constructive engagements, they have mutually agreed to conclude their professional relationship on an amicable basis,” the club said in a statement.
Chiefs have since appointed Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef — who both joined the club as Nabi’s assistants — to lead the technical team until the end of the 2025/26 season.
“Following the announcement earlier today of a mutual parting of ways between Kaizer Chiefs FC and Head Coach Nasreddine Nabi, the Club can confirm that Coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze will lead the technical team for the remainder of the 2025/26 season,” Chiefs added.
Nabi leaves Chiefs with an overall record of 12 wins, 14 losses, and 9 draws in 35 matches across all competitions.
