Kaze Hails Shabalala After Dominant Betway Premiership Win

Kaizer Chiefs coach Cedric Kaze has heaped praise on young midfielder Mduduzi Shabalala following his outstanding performance in the team’s 4-1 victory over Orbit College in the Betway Premiership match at FNB Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The 21-year-old was instrumental in all four goals scored by Amakhosi, scoring two goals and assisting Mfundo Vilakazi and Flavio Da Silva’s goals. Shabalala also won the man of the match award in this game.

Shabalala’s two goals in the match took his tally to three goals in the Betway Premiership this season, and his performance did not go unnoticed by the team’s coach.

“He is young and he has to learn because he still has a very long way to develop,” Kaze said.

“We know that he could do more than what he’s showing. The good thing about him is that he is a very humble kid and willing to learn as well.”

With this victory, Amakhosi are now sitting in second position on the Betway Premiership log with 22 points in 11 games, tied with Mamelodi Sundowns but trailing on goal difference.

The 2025 Nedbank Cup champions will now take a break from league action and shift their focus to the CAF Confederation Cup, where they will face Egyptian giants Al Masry on November 23 in the first game of the group stage in Egypt after the FIFA international break.

The break will give Shabalala and his teammates a chance to rest and recharge before resuming their busy schedule.
