Khumalo Excited for Chiefs' Upcoming England Tour

Kaizer Chiefs DStv Diski Challenge coach, Vela Khumalo, has expressed his excitement about the team’s upcoming tour to England, scheduled to take place between 25 November to 7 December.

As Diski Challenge winners for a record of 70 points, Chiefs will tour the UK to feature three high-profile matches against Manchester United U21, Leeds United U21, and Queens Park Rangers U21.

Khumalo believes that this exposure will be a valuable experience for his players, particularly following their historic DStv Diski Challenge triumph last season.

“About the trip, there’s more than anything I can expect, but it’s an exposure for the boys,” Khumalo said.

“They did well last season, they got 70 points, and now playing against Manchester United, Leeds, and QPR is going to be a huge one.”

The 48-year-old mentor emphasized that the tour is a reward for the team’s hard work and dedication, and he is thrilled to see his players take on this challenge.

The DDC 2024/25 season champions will also have the opportunity to watch a Premier League match between Leeds United and Chelsea, as well as visit the office of the Premier League, and tour to Liverpool.

This experience will undoubtedly be a once-in-a-lifetime chance for the young players to learn from the best and gain valuable insights into the world of professional football.

Despite their impressive performance last season, Chiefs are currently struggling in the league this season, having won just two games in six matches. In their last four games, they have failed to secure a win, with two draws and two losses.

However, Khumalo remains optimistic about the team’s potential and believes that the England tour will provide his players with a much-needed boost.

“But more than anything else, it’s an exposure for the boys, and it’s a reward for them,” Khumalo added.

“I’m happy for them, and we’re looking forward to our tour.”

With this mindset, Amakhosi are set to embark on an exciting journey that will test their skills against some of the best young players in the world.
