Kaizer Chiefs Defender Zitha Kwinika Embraces Challenge Against Sekhukhune United
Kaizer Chiefs defender Zitha Kwinika has voiced that facing Sekhukhune United, a team composed of experienced players, will serve as a significant test to determine their readiness to compete in the Betway Premiership league.
Both Chiefs and Sekhukhune have garnered the same total of 13 points after five games in the 2025/26 season; Sekhukhune currently holds second place, while Chiefs are in third.
Kwinika praised Sekhukhune, acknowledging their status as one of the premier teams in the league. He emphasized the upcoming match as an opportunity to demonstrate their competitive edge.
“I think that is one of the good teams in the league,” said Kwinika.
“We respect that, considering the experience and quality of the players they possess, so it is our responsibility to match that. Our performance hinges on competing against such talented individuals who have experience in the league.
“So it is an important challenge for us to show we are prepared for this,” the captain added.
Chiefs have had a strong season thus far, achieving five clean sheets with four wins and one goalless draw.
Kwinika highlighted the necessity of securing home points as they prepare to host Sekhukhune at FNB Stadium this Tuesday.
“It’s very important. This season, our objective is to maximize points at home because we view this as our territory where we need to defend our advantage fiercely,” Kwinika stated.
“Securing points at home not only motivates us but also adds pressure on opponents, especially as away matches can be more challenging.”
