Baldur's Gate 3 developer Larian has expressed interest in bringing its upcoming game, Divinity, to the Switch 2 console.
This glimmer of hope for Nintendo fans emerged during an AMA session hosted by Larian on Reddit, where the community inquired about the potential for a Divinity release on the new platform.
The studio's technical director, u/Bert_Larian, highlighted that Larian had successfully launched Divinity Original Sin 2 on Nintendo's latest console, stating, "We love the platform." He reassured fans that the team would keep Switch 2 in consideration for Divinity.
During the AMA, the topic of Divinity's compatibility with the Steam Deck was also raised. Bert spoke positively about the device's portability and mentioned, "Since [Baldur's Gate 3] was one of the most played games on the platform, we will do our best to again release on the platform."
Following the announcement of Divinity last month, Larian's CEO revealed that the studio had been using generative AI to explore creative ideas and enhance internal presentations. This approach garnered some criticism, prompting Swen Vincke to clarify that they were not replacing concept artists with AI. He later announced the AMA to address concerns and mentioned that the studio had reassessed its stance on generative AI.
