Businessman and socialite Leeroy Sidambe is celebrating a significant milestone in parenting after his daughter, Zinhle Sidambe, achieved remarkable matric results.
The young graduate earned a bachelor’s pass along with two distinctions, an achievement that has ignited joy throughout the Sidambe household.
Leeroy described the moment of receiving the results as deeply emotional, expressing a blend of relief, pride, and gratitude.
“I was overjoyed and emotional. I felt relief, pride, and gratitude all at once. Seeing the results brought tears of happiness and a deep sense of accomplishment for her and everyone who supported her,” he shared.
He emphasized that Zinhle’s achievement stems from years of consistent effort and discipline.
Praising her character alongside her academic excellence, he noted that she has always remained grounded.
“She put in the study hours and stayed committed. As a person, she is kind, respectful, and determined. She cares about her family and honors those who helped her along the way,” he said.
The journey to success was a family affair. Leeroy acknowledged the sacrifices made by Zinhle’s mother, the lasting influence of her late grandmother, and the encouragement she received from close friends and mentors.
“Success like this is never just one person’s; it’s a collective effort,” he added.
After extending his congratulations, Leeroy encouraged Zinhle to cherish this achievement while remaining focused on the future.
Zinhle plans to pursue an LLB in law, and her father is ready to guide her in navigating university life, offering advice on time management, disciplined study habits, campus involvement, and self-care.
Education is a fundamental value in the Sidambe family.
“Education is the key to opportunity and progress. We celebrate academic achievements and support one another in pursuing learning because we know the long-term benefits for the individual and the whole family,” he explained.
Reflecting on fatherhood, he shared how Zinhle’s achievement left him feeling both proud and humbled.
“It reminds me of the sacrifices made and the importance of being present and supportive. It also renews my sense of responsibility to continue guiding and supporting her through university and beyond,” he said.
Leeroy also offered encouraging words for other parents and matriculants across the nation.
“Parents, believe in and support your children; your encouragement, sacrifices, and presence matter. Matriculants, be proud of what you’ve achieved, plan ahead, stay disciplined, and keep learning. Remember, one set of results doesn’t define your entire future; it’s a stepping stone.”
