Radio personality Sol Phenduka has sparked a lively discussion on social media following his reaction to a video featuring Gogo Skhotheni. In the video, Gogo questions whether men who fail to financially support their children should be granted access to them.
Sol expressed his views, emphasizing that a father's access to his child should not be viewed as a privilege linked to financial support. He argued that seeing a child is a fundamental right that offers emotional and mental benefits for both the child and the parent.
“Seeing the child is a form of support, mentally and emotionally for the child,” he stated.
He further declared, “Seeing your child is not a reward. It’s a right! Let the deadbeat see the child. The child will realize as they grow up what their dad is.”
Sol cautioned that using the denial of access as a means of punishment could have negative repercussions for all involved. He added, “You punishing a dad by refusing him access to the child, that child will hate you when he grows up and realizes what you’ve been doing.”
