Liverpool are in discussions to allow one of their wingers to depart the club this January.
After a successful last season, culminating in a Premier League victory in Arne Slot’s debut term, the current campaign has presented challenges for the team.
They invested a remarkable £446m in the summer transfer window, acquiring notable players like Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz.
Liverpool could allow winger to leave on loan in January
December's tensions peaked when Mohamed Salah publicly expressed his frustration following missed selections, hinting he felt unsupported by the coach.
This situation, alongside Salah's obligations at the Africa Cup of Nations and Isak's long-term injury, has posed significant challenges for Slot regarding the squad's attacking options.
The pressure is compounded by reports from Tuttosport, indicating that Juventus is considering a loan for winger Federico Chiesa.
Chiesa, who joined Liverpool for £12.5m under 18 months ago, has had limited playing time, starting only one Premier League match this season, often overshadowed by peers like Salah and Wirtz.
The ongoing talks are exploring whether a temporary arrangement could include options for purchase based on performance, a concern raised by Juventus.
Though Liverpool is hesitant to let Chiesa go, pondering their current shortage in attacking depth, they have indicated there is a negotiable “price tag” for any potential deal.
This move could benefit all sides, allowing Liverpool to recoup some of their investment while providing Chiesa the chance for regular playing time.
Currently valued at €18m according to Transfermarkt, a sale or loan could be a shrewd decision for Liverpool.
