In 2024, Magic: The Gathering will traverse the wasteland of Fallout with four preconstructed Commander decks, celebrating iconic characters, locations, and events from the Fallout video games. A recent update on Magic's Secret Lair website reveals an exciting collaboration with Bethesda's post-apocalyptic universe, now focusing on Prime Video's Fallout series, set to launch on January 26 at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET.
A new banner on the Secret Lair website showcases three intriguing images related to this upcoming Fallout drop. The visuals include:
- CX404, the iconic German Shepherd known as Dogmeat
- A close-up of a hand holding a Lucky 38 casino chip
- Lucy, the adventurous Vault Dweller from Vault 33, portrayed by Ella Purnell
Furthermore, a reprint of Mindcrank was recently revealed via Fallout’s official Instagram account. In total, nine cards have been announced for the Secret Lair x Fallout Rad Superdrop, including three uniquely designed cards:
- Lucy MacLean, Positively Armed (unique)
- The Ghoul, Gunslinger (unique)
- Maximus, Knight Apparent (unique)
- Dogmeat, Constant Companion (reprint of Yoshimaru, Ever-Faithful)
- Joshua Graham, Burned Man (reprint of Isshin, Two Heavens as One)
- Mindcrank
- Mothman Egg (reprint of Mesmeric Orb)
- Patchwork Banner
- The Platinum Chip (reprint of Caged Sun)
While the exact number of drops for this Fallout collaboration remains unclear, the revealed cards hint at a minimum of two thematic collections. For instance, a recent PlayStation superdrop featured seven drops based on various first-party titles.
The announcement of this new Secret Lair drop coincides with the upcoming prereleases for Lorwyn Eclipsed, which is set to be Magic's first major expansion of 2026. Marking a return to the beloved plane of Lorwyn after nearly two decades, the set will reintroduce kithkin, elementals, elves, boggarts, and other fantastical creatures, set to launch in local game stores on January 23.
