Manchester City has reportedly put one of their attackers up for sale this January, with other Premier League clubs showing interest.
This decision comes on the heels of the club’s £65m signing of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth, who has already started three games for the Sky Blues since his arrival.
With the addition of Semenyo, City now has eight attackers available to support Erling Haaland, leading to limited opportunities in Pep Guardiola’s starting eleven.
Fulham in Pole Position to Make Manchester City Signing
The Catalan coach is known for preferring a smaller squad to maintain harmony, suggesting that a player will need to be sold to accommodate Semenyo.
Current rumors point toward young winger Oscar Bobb potentially being that player. According to transfers journalist David Ornstein, the club is open to selling the 22-year-old, who has struggled with injuries but had a promising start this season.
So far this term, Bobb has made five Premier League starts, yet he hasn’t appeared in a league match since November, which raises the issue of his competition for playing time against Semenyo and other notable players.
City is reportedly looking for roughly £30m for Bobb. However, his current valuation sits at just under £22m according to Transfermarkt, indicating potential negotiation challenges ahead.
Furthermore, Bobb is currently in discussions with Fulham regarding a permanent move to Craven Cottage, with potential fees speculated to reach £35m, as noted by Fabrizio Romano.
With strong competition for minutes, this could be a good opportunity for Bobb to explore a more prominent role elsewhere, as his playing time may not increase under the current circumstances.
