Master Hytale Multiplayer: Join and Invite Friends Effortlessly

Hytale is an engaging multiplayer sandbox adventure game tailored for every kind of player—be it a creator, adventurer, or someone who loves Skyblock. Dive into a fantasy journey with friends in the world of Orbis, or explore in-game development tools to create unique experiences for others. Hytale offers players the freedom to explore various possibilities, both solo and in multiplayer.

In Hytale, multiplayer options vary based on what players want to do. Ready to embark on quests with friends? Join a multiplayer world and set off! Interested in playing minigames or joining an SMP server? Then seek out a multiplayer server to participate. No matter your plans in Hytale, here’s everything you need to know about its multiplayer features, including how to invite and join friends in worlds or servers.

Hytale Multiplayer: How to Invite and Join Friends

With Hytale multiplayer, you and your friends can connect in two primary ways: through singleplayer worlds or servers.

The key distinction is that servers are often 'always on', while singleplayer worlds typically go offline when the host does. This makes singleplayer worlds perfect for smaller groups playing simultaneously, whereas servers are ideal for larger players not needing to be online together.

Servers are often employed for broader experiences requiring rules and moderators. Keep this in mind as you dive into multiplayer!

Additionally, all mods in Hytale are server-sided. This means that joining a server automatically grants access to any present resources or mods.

Hytale Multiplayer Worlds

If planning to start a multiplayer world in Hytale with friends, remember two essential points: the world will be unavailable when the host is offline, and be cautious with whom you share your codes.

Share codes, necessary for joining another player's world, contain the sharer's IP address. Therefore, avoid public sharing and ensure you trust anyone you do share with.

Inviting Friends to a Singleplayer World

  1. Open your chosen world.
  2. Press ESC to access the pause menu.
  3. Select 'Online Play'.
  4. Toggle 'Allow Other Players to Join' to ON.
  5. [Optional] Set a password to restrict access, deciding whether to 'Include Password in Share Code'.
  6. Press 'Save' to finalize settings.
  7. Your Share Code will appear. Click 'Copy to Clipboard' to share it with friends.

Joining Friends in a Singleplayer World

  1. From the Hytale main menu, select 'Servers'.
  2. Select 'Join via Code'.
  3. Input the provided Share Code.
  4. [Optional] Enter a password if applicable.
  5. Select 'Connect' to join your friends' world.

Hytale Multiplayer Servers

As noted, servers are generally always online and accommodate more players, making them worthwhile even for small friend groups whose schedules may not align.

However, establishing a server can be more complex than starting a world. The host must rent or create a self-hosted server and authenticate it in Hytale before others can join.

Inviting Friends to a Server

  1. Rent a dedicated server from a trusted host or set up a self-hosted one.
  2. Once ready, start the server and authenticate it in Hytale.
  3. After authentication, share the server IP address with friends.

Joining Friends on a Server

  1. Copy the server's IP address.
  2. In the Hytale main menu, select 'Servers'.
  3. Choose 'Direct Connect' and paste the IP address to connect.

That concludes your introduction to multiplayer worlds and servers in Hytale! Best of luck as you embark on your adventures.
